Police swept the buildings but found nothing, Boston 25 reported

“We will continue to work closely with law enforcement and hospital security teams, and we are grateful for their immediate response,” a spokesperson for Boston Children’s Hospital told Boston 25. “We are committed to ensuring the hospital is a safe and secure place for all who work here and come here.”

This harassment is an ongoing concern for the hospital.

Police evacuated the building on Aug. 30 after a woman called the facility and said: "There is a bomb on the way to the hospital. You better evacuate everybody you sickos," police said

The FBI arrested Catherine Leavy, a 37-year-old Westfield woman, in connection with that call.

Joshua Kimble, of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, made another bomb threat on Sept. 9, police said. A Canadian newspaper reported in 2021 that a court ruled Kimble suffered from schizophrenia and had a history of making bomb threats.

The hospital became the target of an online harassment campaign over the summer after an internet personality claimed that Boston Children's Hospital performed elective gender reassignment surgeries on children. The hospital has repeatedly said this is not true.
